ANIMATIONS

The Chase

'The Chase' is a group project animated in Maya, put together and rendered in Unreal Engine. The above clip showcases my main animation contributions to the clip, although I largely contributed to the overall project through lighting, cinematic camera framing and the pre-production blocking process.

I used a mixture of Roko and Mixamo motion capture, combined with hand animation to achieve a range of unique and complex animations

All characters were re-rigged for real time engine export which lead to a couple of challenges which I was able to overcome and allowed me to largely improve and refine my rigging skill set. You can read more about the process in RIGGING.

The entire project of 'The Chase' can be found here, with the above clips found between 00:00 - 00:35 and 01:26 - 01:39

Bellow you'll find some of the behind the scenes images and clips of how our animations made their way from Maya to Unreal Engine. See bellow the full transformation process of how recorded clips of my classmates became an animation that was then added to the final scene!

Zelda Playing The Harp

This was a short clip animated for my group project 'A New Hope' where I was also responsible for a large section of the live action compositions, which can be found on the COMPOSITONS section of my portfolio, rendered in real time using Unreal Engine. For this particular scene, I was responsible for all camera animation and scene lighting.

All animation was hand keyed and rendered in Unreal Engine 5. It was a great experience to work on subtle overlapping action such as her hair pieces and animate how the strings would react after she plucked them.

The Tomb

Project all animated and rendered through Maya.

My first performance animation piece, which focused on practicing and emphasising animation principles to create an engaging and realistic animation. I was able to refine my artistic skills to create believable movement and how two characters may interact together.

For the characterisation of each character, I made a face lip sync library as well as a range of still poses that convey strong emotions and silhouettes.
